About the Opportunity Our long-standing Centre Director is retiring, opening up a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Exceeding service at Star of the Sea Cleveland We’re a beautiful five-room early learning centre supported by a team of dedicated, professional educators. About Star of the Sea Cleveland Proudly Rated Exceeding Full current utilisation, with 2026 enrolments already near capacity 75-place , purpose-built service located next to Star of the Sea Primary School, featuring beautiful bay views Bush Kindy program inspiring outdoor exploration and connection with nature Newly renovated indoor spaces and a near-complete playground upgrade ready to welcome our new Director Contemporary, well-resourced learning environments designed to support high-quality education and care Fresh, nutritious meals prepared daily by our on-site cook A collaborative, supportive team culture where educators thrive together We want someone who brings not just their skills but also joy, warmth and creativity to the role everyday. Responsibilities Managing the day-to-day operations of the centre, including staffing, administration, and financial management Providing strong, supportive leadership to guide and inspire the team Overseeing the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive educational program Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children Collaborating with families and the community to support each child’s learning and wellbeing Promoting the service in alignment with Catholic Early EdCare values and philosophy Demonstrating flexibility in balancing contact time with out-of-ratio leadership and administrative duties Job Requirements Diploma in Children Services or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines. Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma / Anaphylaxis A strong understanding of Child Care legislation including the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and Early Years Learning Framework & the QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines Effective computer skills including experience with childcare management software (Xplor preferred) Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities, including team development skills.
