Southern Highlands & Snowy, SydneyAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Capital Projects Team and provide engineering services as Boral continues on our Good to Great journey. You will primarily be accountable for investigating, designing, evaluating and providing effective engineering support to the Major Capital Projects Project Managers.With a focus on front end mechanical design and scoping work, you will support the design and delivery of new capital equipment across Boral’s construction materials portfolio including equipment for concrete plants, asphalt plants and cement facilities including alternative fuel systems.Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Engineer, this is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at Berrima NSW.Your day will involve:Supervising a team of mechanical engineers, draftsmen and contractors allocated on a project requirements basis.Estimating, evaluation costing and design as well as monitoring and reporting on progress.Problem investigation and analysisPreparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents through to pre-qualification of suppliers and evaluation of technical tendersProject management for studies and investments focused on design aspects for small scope projectsCo-ordination of technical resources up to project handoverDesign of transport equipment for material handling and logistics concepts for transport, storage and productionAssessment and approval of drawings from internal and external sourcesSite investigation - definition of necessary measures in co-ordination with a nominated plant responsible for process requirementsManage site mechanical investigations, reporting and compliance auditsMechanical Project Implementation including Site Supervision of contractorsWhat are we looking for?Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated experience on heavy industrial sitesKnowledge of process equipment, handling systems and operating conditions and typical design problems of old equipmentExperience in design of industrial investment projects and knowledge of equipment/service costs, material handlingDemonstrated ability to supervise contractorsAbility to troubleshoot and commission industrial mechanical projects, resolve engineering issues and provide mechanical technical support to othersProficient in the use of design software (AUTOCAD, INVENTOR)Experience in development of CFT documentsMembership of Engineers Australia or other governing bodies or ability to register is desirable but not essential.What’s on offer?Permanent, full-time opportunityBroaden your horizons through exposure to our integrated operationsAccess to SkillBuild, an online Learning & Development platform where you can access training resources for our personal and professional growthAccess to a variety of support networks including Boral Employee Assistance ProgramWe provide a working environment that is safe, caring, supportive and dynamic with a clear focus on continually encouraging and developing its peopleWork for an Equal Opportunity Employer – At Boral, we understand that diversity brings many benefits, and we are increasingly encouraging greater diversity within our workplacesJoin an industry aimed at offering value to the community & committed to Zero HarmIconic market leader committed to driving sustainable outcomesWe will email you new jobs that match this search.Great, we can send you jobs like this, if this is your first time signing up, please check your inbox to confirm your subscription.The email address was invalid, please check for errors.Oversee a variety of diverse mechanical engineering capital projects for iconic, ASX listed leader, Boral.
