Associate Dean (Research), Theology and Philosophy Australian Catholic University – North Sydney NSW Associate Dean (Research) with an Associate Professor/Professor role Campus Location: North Sydney, Australia | Strathfield, Australia Job No: APTAV #003 Provide strategic research leadership as a member of the National Faculty Executive Team, for ACU's large and dynamic Faculty of Theology & Philosophy Join a mission‑driven, world‑class faculty (QS Ranked 22nd globally/1st in Australia) in educating the next generation of theologians, philosophers and religious educators Full‑time continuing academic (Associate Professor/Professor) role in the School of Theology or Philosophy, with one renewable 3‑year term as Associate Dean (Research) ACU offers 17% employer superannuation, salary packaging and generous leave provisions Preferably based at our North Sydney or Strathfield campus, with some hybrid flexibility About the role Operating within The Faculty of Theology & Philosophy , the Associate Dean (Research) supports the Executive Dean and faculty executive team to provide high‑level academic leadership across the faculty's two Schools, and its Research Institute and Centres; and will operate in the context of a University‑wide research strategy focused on high quality, high impact and innovative research. The position holder will: Work with the Executive Dean, National Heads of School and Institute and Centre Directors to set strategic faculty research directions, including planning and implementing strategies to ensure research targets are met and a research‑focused culture is nurtured amongst academic staff, Maintain their own research program in a relevant Faculty discipline, and Develop a cohesive strategy and activities to attract high quality higher degree by research students and ensure timely completions, and to nurture the development of strategic partnerships with international partners and other key external stakeholders. Total remuneration valued to $202,272 - $222,654 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $171,352 - $188,772 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level D); or; Total remuneration valued to $260,037 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component of $220,723 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E), plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed‑term staff. Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
