About The Role We are seeking a highly‑experienced Commercial Director to lead and oversee commercial strategies for in‑flight and future defense programs. Your focus will be to define and execute strategic goals, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, while driving exceptional business performance across L3Harris IMSA. You will navigate complex legal, commercial and regulatory landscapes, ensuring full compliance with Australian contracting models, legislation and corporate policies. Responsibilities Support the General Manager in establishing strategic directions, goals and objectives aligned with sector, segment and corporate goals. Lead the commercial function in the development and execution of commercial goals to achieve L3Harris IMSA’s performance targets. Oversee the preparation and negotiation of high‑value and complex contracts and agreements. Provide strategic advice, analysis and recommendations on legal and commercial matters. Qualifications Proven track record of managing commercial and legal matters for a large or multi‑disciplinary organisation, ideally within the Australian Defence Industry. Experience with international contracting and export regulations, strong business acumen and ability to drive commercial success. Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Strong business and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate complex legal frameworks into actionable business strategies. A tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce, or equivalent experience. Extensive knowledge of commercial, legal and risk management requirements; proven ability to manage a high‑performance team. Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
