Join us as a Key Account Manager at Gemco Rail. Gemco Rail, a subsidiary of Engenco Limited, is the leading independent provider of rollingstock maintenance, products and services to the Australian and New Zealand rail markets. We specialize in the manufacture, maintenance and overhaul of wagons, locomotives, passenger cars, rolling stock components and track maintenance equipment, supporting our customers to maintain their operations effectively and efficiently and maximize the life of their assets. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to join our Newcastle or Melbourne team. The role focuses on driving business development with new and existing customers through the effective sale and management of Gemco Rail’s rolling stock products, services, and agency offerings. It requires a high level of autonomy and strong relationship‑building with key account managers, business unit leaders, customers, and stakeholders. Success will rely on strong leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to foster a culture of accountability and effective project delivery. Key Responsibilities Follow and improve upon the GRST Precision Selling System & Customer Relationship Management system Develop customer strategy papers for main accounts, including detailed records of customers, their representatives, products/services purchased, and identify upcoming opportunities Lead tenders, including the preparation of the bid and the full offer to the customer Develop Customer Operational Performance Reports and manage customer ARNs to closure Participate in the preparation of divisional plans and budgets, ensuring sales margins are maintained by actively reviewing sales performance, risks, and opportunities effectively managed Identify critical gaps in service capabilities and elevate appropriately Ensure that company systems are fully adhered to with feedback on recommended improvements In conjunction with the General Manager Sales & BD and the operational GMs and managers, expand market share through the existing customer base, new customers/market segments utilizing all facilities that will help grow the business revenue and assets profitably Research new products and market requirements About You Essential knowledge, skills and experience: Multi‑disciplined Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to changing workloads Well‑developed analytical and planning skills Strong technical and industry knowledge Strong skill set in communications both verbal and written Demonstrated ability in liaising and building relationships both internally and externally Demonstrated ability to understand strong project management processes and systems Demonstrated information technology utilization skills in a business environment Why Join Us Competitive remuneration: enjoy a competitive salary package, including salary sacrifice options, opportunities for overtime and Time Off in Lieu (TOIL).
