About the role Living out your faith in a Christian school community, with an attitude of support, care and excellence; Assisting new students and their families to integrate into the school and local community. Monitoring the social and emotional wellbeing of Defence students. Assisting students to develop self-confidence and resilience. Referring students to services or school and community programs that meet their needs. Enhancing awareness and appreciation of the unique Defence lifestyle in schools and communities. Providing support to children during times of parental absence. Developing and implementing programs and resources that address issues and needs. Recording student support delivered using the Schools Student Information System; Supporting students to integrate and connect in the playground and with peers; Maintaining high standards of professionalism, flexibility and the ability to work with colleagues. This part-time Defence Support Mentor (DSM) position is due to commence as soon as is practical, 2025. The role is likely to be 2-3 days per week but open to negotiation. About you Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy of data collection and reporting. You have an active Christian faith and regularly attend church.
