About the role: As Lockheed Martin Australia continues to grow its engineering capability, we are seeking an experienced Configuration & Data Management Manager to provide technical leadership, governance, and strategic direction across the Configuration & Data Management (CDM) domain. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring our programs meet configuration, data governance, and digital engineering standards, while developing and supporting a high-performing CDM workforce. You will guide and mentor CDM professionals, uplift capability across people, processes, tools and training, and ensure consistent execution of CDM practices across multiple complex programs. This is a genuine leadership opportunity with influence across portfolios, projects, and business functions. Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Provide technical leadership, direction, and strategy for configuration and data management across LMA programs Drive cohesive CDM governance aligned with EIA-649C, ISO 10007, customer requirements, and internal standards Lead capability development across people, processes, tools, and training Mentor CDM analysts and team members to build consistency, quality, and technical excellence Support Engineering & Technology in new business pursuits, bids, and proposals Coordinate configuration and data management activities across multi-disciplinary program teams Apply robust configuration management principles to maintain product integrity and support digital engineering initiatives Provide specialist expertise in PLM systems to integrate configuration data across tools and environments Engage engineering, program, and customer stakeholders to champion best practice in configuration and data governance Contribute to continuous improvement and enhancement of CDM processes, methods, and the Information Management Process Asset Library About you: To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated full spectrum leadership capability Strong experience in Configuration & Data Management within complex engineering or systems environments Experience mentoring and influencing technical professionals Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive outcomes, and support multiple programs simultaneously Familiarity with PLM tools such as Windchill or similar Background in Defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated engineering sectors If you’re passionate about technical leadership, governance, and developing high-performing teams, and want to play a key role in delivering complex Defence capability, this is an opportunity to contribute at both strategic and program execution levels.
