Aboriginal Identified opportunity – Clerk Grade 7‑8 Package includes salary $113,574‑$125,720, employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Full‑time temporary role for up to 3 years, located in Broken Hill. About the role This is an Aboriginal identified role where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti‑discrimination Act 1977. The selection will be linked to the conservation and protection of Aboriginal heritage and our natural environment. Walk and work on Country to provide high‑level executive administrative services to help establish and manage the Aboriginal Joint Management Committees. Responsibilities Provide executive administrative support to the Aboriginal Joint Management Committees. Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement the directions of the Board of Management, support the effective liaison between NPWS, the Mutawintji Board of Management, the Mutawintji Local Aboriginal Land Council and external stakeholders, and deliver on NPWS commitments within the Part 4A lease reserve plans of management. Facilitate training, advocate for Board goals and assist in the development of culturally relevant educational and tourism activities. About you / Qualifications You’re a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and prior experience working with Aboriginal communities. You have a high level of attention to detail, a commitment to cultural relevance, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and assist in the successful delivery of programs and agreements. Your strong communication and problem‑solving skills, combined with your ability to work independently and as part of a team, will enable you to thrive in this role. Knowledge of Joint Management arrangements and use of public estate to ensure that the cultural heritage, public safety and flora and fauna remain protected; understanding of environmental issues and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage management. Current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to fly in light aircraft. Essential Requirements Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identified as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and accepted as such by the community. Demonstrated experience in project development, implementation and management. Knowledge of Joint Management arrangements and use of public estate to protect cultural heritage and environmental assets. Current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
