Hospital Manager | AEC + Specialty Moorabbin We are seeking an experienced and innovative hospital manager to join AEC + Specialty Moorabbin on a full-time basis. The AEC + Specialty Moorabbin has a 24 hour per day, 7 days a week, dedicated emergency and critical care (ECC) service. The hospital is staffed with an outstanding team of emergency veterinarians and nurses working alongside surgery specialists. The Moorabbin team moved into a brand new purpose-built facility in February 2025, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. We aim to provide a responsive, comprehensive emergency and referral service to Victorian veterinarians, their clients and their pets, with high professional and clinical standards tempered by genuine care and compassion. Your New Role Reporting to the business manager, the hospital manager will be a highly valued member of the AEC + Specialty Moorabbin management team who will oversee and execute the efficient and effective running of the hospital, ensuring that the highest standard of patient care and customer services are achieved. The role provides leadership and direction in areas such as team development, workflow management, supplier management, inventory management, operational performance, patient/customer satisfaction and ad hoc tasks as required. The hospital manager is responsible for overseeing and developing the ECC & Surgery nursing teams and the Customer Services team, through the supervision and mentorship of the Nursing Manager, Surgery Nurse Team Leader, and the Customer Service Team Leader, and will also work closely with the Business Manager, Veterinary Clinical Director, and Veterinary Team Leader. Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To Day-to-day management of the hospital, optimising daily operating procedures to drive the highest standards of patient care and customer service Providing leadership, management and support to a busy, collaborative, high-performing team End-to-end management of inventory, procurement and purchasing including monitoring stock usage and inventory levels, managing quality of supplies, supplier relationship management, overseeing agreements, and supplier audits Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Identifying growth opportunities with the leadership team and implementing plans to achieve growth Understanding levers of profit and loss within the hospital and providing recommendations to improve profitability Complying with WH&S legislation and operating in accordance with health, safety and wellbeing practices and procedures Oversight of rostering and onboarding new employees Developing and maintaining referring vet relationships and optimising the referral system The ideal candidate will have the following attributes Excellent time management, attention to detail, organisational and communication skills and ability to work toward deadlines Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician qualifications preferred Ability to lead, and lead by example Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanour The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of an outstanding, fast-paced, dynamic and challenging work environment.
