Ventia – Mount Louisa, Queensland, Australia Job Title: Storeperson – Defence Maintenance Contract, Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, QLD. About the Role A great opportunity to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, QLD. As a Storeperson, you will be responsible for conducting stores tasks, including account management and stocktakes. Reporting to the Site Leader, you will assist with the effective and efficient delivery and control of stores and equipment, with a focus on increasing productivity for the site’s maintenance function. Responsibilities Unload goods and check them against order forms Catalogue or label items with storage details Place goods in bins and on racks, or stack bulky items on floors Complete orders by selecting goods from shelves and checking them off appropriate lists Package and send out completed orders to customers Move heavy packages using forklift machinery Obtain details of the location and quantity of items in stock, using visual display units or computers Enter details of received delivery slips, requisitions and invoices into computers Qualifications & Skills Demonstrated experience in store accounting or commercial equivalent Exceptional customer service experience Forklift licence required Driver’s licence essential Good communication, problem solving, writing and analysis skills Well‑developed computer skills in Microsoft and SAP systems desirable Relevant professional qualifications desirable Australian citizenship and ability to maintain a Defence Security Clearance Benefits $32.72 an hour plus Super 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday; finish at 2 pm on Fridays Training & upskilling provided Work on unique Defence vehicles and assets 17.5% annual leave loading All tools, PPE and uniforms provided On‑site parking About Ventia Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
