Task & Responsibilities select and inspect meat to ensure quality and freshness operate meat processing machines such as slicers, grinders and tenderisers cut meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones weigh, label and package meat products for sale or supply manage inventory and order meat supplies as needed create and maintain attractive displays of meat products assist customers to select and purchase meat products prepare and produce smallgoods such as sausages monitor the smallgoods production process to ensure quality, hygiene and efficiency cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind different kind of meat to prepare meat in cooking form rotate products to reduce the chance of any meat spoiling to reduce waste and loss of profits maintain and clean the meat preparation areas to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in meat preparation accept and check deliveries replenish condiment displays maintain adequate stock levels in pre‑package display Qualifications & Experience Skill Level 3: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on‑the‑job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience 2-3 years' experience as a Butcher. Have exceptional knife skills Understand all aspects of food safety. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Experience in whole animal butchery preferred. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
