Magpies Sporting Club is entering an exciting new era with a $35 million transformation About the Role We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance and administration functions. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the club’s growth and profitability. This is a hands‑on leadership role managing a small team and overseeing all aspects of financial operations. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate management accounts, budgets, and financial reports for the GM and Board. Manage cash flow and ensure timely compliance with audits, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements. Oversee payroll for 140+ employees, including superannuation and payroll tax. Lead and mentor the finance and administration team. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve performance and mitigate risk. Liaise with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders on financial matters. About You Degree in Accounting and CA/CPA qualification (essential). Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting roles. Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance. Excellent communication, leadership, and time‑management skills. Hospitality industry experience (desirable). Why Join Us?
