Advisor, Right to Information (RTI) and Privacy As Advisor, RTI and Privacy, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the OQO’s compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act). You will be the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders in responding to enquiries and requests in relation to privacy and right to information. You will exercise decision making powers under the RTI Act, assess privacy complaints and conduct privacy impact assessments. You will also contribute to policy development, training and reporting on these matters. Responsibilities Exercise delegated decision making power under the RTI Act, and respond to administrative access applications. Undertake all steps necessary in the above decision-making processes, including consulting with internal and external stakeholders in relation to requests for access to OQO information. Provide internal advice concerning RTI and privacy, including about the Queensland Privacy Principles, potential privacy breaches, privacy complaints and conducting privacy impact assessments. Assess and manage privacy breaches and suspected breaches, in consultation with General Counsel. Manage communications with the Office of the Information Commissioner, including in relation to external reviews and privacy breach notifications, in consultation with General Counsel. Contribute to the development and review of policies, processes and systems, related to information access and privacy. Use research, analytical and writing skills to prepare letters, reports, briefing notes, submissions, presentations, complaint responses and associated materials related to information access and privacy. Deliver and assist with the development of information access and privacy awareness education. Maintain registers related to privacy and RTI, assist in reporting to senior management, and in meeting OQO's statutory reporting obligations. Technical Expertise Have or has the ability to rapidly acquire demonstrated skills in the application and interpretation of the RTI Act and the IP Act including relevant decision-making processes.
