About the Role Support At Home Support Officers provide assistance that keeps client needs at the centre of what we do by assisting Care Partners in the coordination of services to clients to help them live at home as safely and independently as possible. Daily responsibilities include: Responding to client/family telephone queries and completing administrative tasks for Support at Home program Coordinating brokered services and equipment purchases as authorised by Care Partners and completing associated administrative tasks Resolving service delivery issues such as client not answering door for scheduled services Liaising with brokered services regarding changes to services Inputting accurate service notes and information into Council's client management system in a timely manner Key Selection Criteria Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A customer-focused approach when interacting with others Proactive organisational and time management skills Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work The ability to thrive in a fast paced but supportive environment An understanding of the needs of older people, people with disabilities and their carers Mandatory pre-employment requirements Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check What we can offer you in return A work life/balance through flexible working arrangements Generous leave provisions, including accrued time off, parental leave, three days of wellbeing leave per year, cultural and ceremonial leave, gender affirmation leave, plus the ability to purchase up to four weeks additional leave per year Dedicated Staff Wellbeing programs, events and gym membership discounts Learning and development opportunities so our people can grow and thrive A parkland surrounding the office that is only a short 500m stroll to the beach Free onsite staff parking How to apply To discover more about the role and responsibilities review the Position Description on Bayside City Council Careers page.
