Infringements & Appeals Officer (Parking) Yarra Ranges Council is seeking an Infringements & Appeals (Parking) Officer to join our Risk & Infringements Team. As the Infringements & Appeals (Parking) Officer, you will oversee parking infringements and appeals, ensuring compliance with the Infringements Act 2006 and Council policies. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain the efficient operation of the team. Full-time temporary position until September 2026 (project/peak period of work) (38 hours per week). Band 5 role with a salary range between $80,490 and $89,430 per annum, plus superannuation. Support work-life balance with a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off and hybrid working arrangements. Key responsibilities: Manage the parking infringements and appeals process in line with legislation and Council requirements, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Review, issue, and monitor infringements and payment plans. Respond to enquiries and provide clear, professional advice to community members. Make informed decisions within relevant financial delegations. Provide support, guidance, and advice to stakeholders regarding infringements and related tasks. Assist with training and operational support, contributing to the effective handling of compliance matters. Represent the Council as required, including occasional court appearances. Experience and skills we’re looking for Strong attention to detail, with the ability to decipher facts from multiple sources. Previous experience in a similar role or in a regulatory environment is preferred. The ability to clearly and easily provide strong customer service is essential to this role. Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage detailed processes Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
