The Role: We are seeking 2 experienced Project Managers to join our Pearson Assessment Services team to deliver a complex assessment program. The Project Managers will work with the Project Director to scope, design, plan, monitor and deliver the project, ensuring that all contractual obligations, milestones and financial objectives are met. They will have a strong focus on accuracy, quality, attention to detail and working within a PRINCE2 environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in working with stakeholders, sub-contractors and clients are key components of this role. The Project Manager must be prepared and able to travel interstate and/or internationally for periods of up to 4-6 weeks in duration at any one time .
Flexible working: Pearson is committed to hybrid working practices and has adopted flexible remote and virtual working . Please note: This position requires 2 to 3 days per week in our Nunawading office, and, during live operational periods this will be full time. There isfree parking and is walking distance to the train station. This is a great location for those that are not a fan of the city commute.
Our team: Pearson Assessment Services provide a comprehensive suite of services to accommodate the secure printing, packing, distribution, data capture, marking and reporting for our clients/projects throughout Australia and Internationally. Our highlight is Pearson’s delivery of services for the NAPLAN program in various territories. We are responsible for the delivery of large-scale assessment and deliver both paper and online assessments to hundreds of thousands of students each year. All projects are managed under the PRINCE2 management framework to ensure that strong quality controls are maintained.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
Undertake all documentation aspects of project planning implementation, and evaluation
Create and execute project work plans and ensure projects are completed on time, to budget and to the highest levels of quality
Follow the PRINCE2 project management methodology
Review deliverables, risk and issue identification, assessment and management
Provide input to the Financial Accountant to ensure effective management of project accounts and budgets.
Develop durable relationships with client personnel
Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A certification in PRINCE2 Program Management methodology (mandatory)
A minimum of 3 years project management experience, ideally in a service environment working on multiple, complex projects (internal and external)
Strong external and internal key stakeholder management, decision making and negotiation skills
Ideally you will have an understanding of the Australian assessment and testing environment.
