Lead a thriving club in a dynamic community

South Tweed Sports Club is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive strategic growth, operational excellence, and a strong community-focused culture.

Located at the southern end of the Gold Coast, in the heart of Tweed Heads, South Tweed Sports Club is a premier hospitality and sporting venue with a strong membership base of 12,000 members, including 112 bowls members. The club boasts three bowls greens, a modern restaurant, vibrant bars and café offerings, and a well-established gaming floor featuring a modern gaming floor with 100 EGMs managed through S7000 (CardPay enabled).

With solid revenue, a strong balance sheet, and no borrowings, the club is well-positioned for continued growth with significant preparations in place for venue upgrades and infrastructure projects. The CEO will oversee the renovations and extensions, ensuring the club's facilities continuously evolve to meet the needs of members and guests.

The club employs 55 dedicated staff, working together to provide outstanding experiences for members and guests.

The Role

As CEO, you will be responsible for leading the club's operations, financial sustainability, and strategic direction. You will be supported by a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Operations Manager, strong admin team and a team of dedicated duty managers, ensuring strong leadership across all areas of the club. In addition to directing day-to-day operations, you will also oversee the club's next phase of renovations and extensions, working closely with the Board and key stakeholders to administer design, approvals, contractor engagement, and project delivery.

The club operates with a suite of advanced systems to ensure efficiency and innovation, including:

  • Finance & Payroll: MYOB AR, Xero, Calxa, Lightyear
  • HR & Rostering: Tanda, Professional Hospitality
  • Gaming & POS: Senpos, Consillion Sentric Cash Recycler
  • CRM & Membership: Redeem X CRM
  • Operations & Administration: Dropbox, Function Tracker, Now-Book-It, Infosign

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership, driving the club's strategic growth and success.
  • Oversee all club operations, ensuring financial strength and long-term sustainability.
  • Foster a high-performing culture, empowering staff and enhancing the member experience.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow membership, revenue streams, and club facilities.
  • Manage on the club's upcoming renovations and extensions, from concept to completion.
  • Maintain and enhance the club's sporting, dining, and gaming offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and uphold best practices in governance.
  • Represent the club within the community, industry bodies, and key stakeholders.

About You

  • Proven experience in club, hospitality, hotel management or business leadership at a senior level.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering sustainable growth.
  • A passion for community engagement and building strong member relationships.
  • Exceptional people management skills to lead and inspire teams.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Experience navigating governance, compliance, and risk management within a club or similar environment.
  • Hands-on experience leading renovations, venue upgrades, or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstration of continual ethical, honest and trustworthy behaviours.
