Lead Technical Discussions and Stakeholder Engagement

Snowflake Optimization and Best Practices Implementation

  • Oversee and evaluate Snowflake implementation and optimization, ensuring adherence to best practices. Guide the team in making architectural decisions that maximize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Data Vault & Dimensional Modeling Guidance

  • Provide expertise in dimensional modeling and Data Vault methodologies to facilitate seamless migration and conversion. Ensure proper implementation of the internal data mesh approach to support new data products.

Evaluate legacy Informatica PowerCenter code and communicate with vendors regarding the complexity of the legacy systems. Support the assessment and decisions regarding migration strategies and optimization efforts.

Manage and optimize the use of parameters (both files and environment variables) within Informatica PowerCenter, ensuring the system works seamlessly and can be adapted to meet project requirements.

SAP BW and S3 Integration Management

  • Ensure proper integration and connectivity between SAP BW and S3 systems. Address technical challenges and provide solutions for smooth data movement and synchronization.

Talend Data Onboarding Management

  • Oversee the setup and maintenance of Talend for data onboarding from various source systems such as CSVs, RDBMS (ODBC, JDBC), APIs, SAP BW, and S3. Ensure data flows are efficient and aligned with business requirements.

Talend Job Automation and Scheduling

  • Manage the execution and scheduling of Talend jobs using AutomateNow or other enterprise scheduling tools. Ensure the smooth integration of Talend jobs with external applications and systems for automated data workflows.

DBT Development and Optimization

  • Lead the development of complex transformations using DBT, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code. Oversee the use of Jinja and ensure best practices are followed when working with DBT on Snowflake.

Manage and configure enterprise scheduling tools like AutomateNow, UC4, or Control-M. Ensure that tasks are executed on time and reliably, providing automation solutions that support project timelines.

DevOps / DataOps Oversight

  • Supervise the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing, deployment, and integration. Collaborate with the DevOps team to streamline development workflows and maintain high-quality standards.

Cloud Migration Strategy and Execution

  • Lead the migration of systems, applications, and data to the cloud. Work closely with other teams to develop and execute a cloud migration plan that minimizes risk and disruption while optimizing for scalability.

ETL Technology Replacement Leadership

  • Drive the process of replacing legacy ETL technologies with modern alternatives. Analyze the requirements for ETL transformation and oversee the seamless transition to new platforms and tools.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences including project members, stakeholders, and partners. Ability to lead technical discussions with various stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven Expertise with Snowflake
    • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, particularly in optimizing and managing Snowflake performance. Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, optimization techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience with Dimensional Modeling and Data Vault
    • Strong background in dimensional modeling and Data Vault methodologies. Experience migrating and converting data into Data Vault structures, supporting the data mesh approach for product development.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter, particularly in understanding legacy code complexity and parameter management (both environment variables and files).
  • Talend Setup and Data Onboarding Expertise
    • Proven expertise in setting up and managing Talend for diverse data sources (CSV, RDBMS, APIs, SAP BW, S3) and executing Talend jobs from other applications using enterprise schedulers.
  • DBT Expertise for Complex Transformations
    • Strong knowledge and experience working with DBT for complex data transformations, including proficiency in Jinja, and best practices for Snowflake integration.
  • Enterprise Scheduling Tool Proficiency
    • Proficiency with enterprise scheduling systems such as AutomateNow, UC4, or Control-M. Experience managing task automation in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • DevOps / DataOps and CI/CD Pipeline Experience
    • Solid experience with DevOps/DataOps processes and tools, particularly in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for data-related projects.
  • Cloud Migration Experience
    • Proven experience leading cloud migration efforts, particularly in migrating complex applications and data systems to cloud platforms while minimizing risk and downtime.
  • Experience with SAP BW and S3 Connectivity
    • Experience integrating SAP BW with cloud-based storage solutions such as S3. Strong troubleshooting and solution-finding abilities for integration challenges.
  • Strong Technical Leadership Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team, provide guidance, and make critical decisions in the context of a complex, high-visibility migration project.
  • Expertise in ETL Tool Replacements
    • Experience in managing ETL technology replacements, ensuring smooth transitions from legacy systems to modern, more efficient platforms.
  • Experience with Large-Scale Distributed Databases
    • Proven experience working with distributed databases, particularly Snowflake, and managing large-scale data pipelines and integrations across multiple systems.
