The Opportunity

We are looking for a senior Business Development Manager.

You will drive business development for our SlurryIQ program – an integrated technology-enabled solution for optimising & upgrading slurry piping in mineral process plants.

Key aspects of this role are:

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will develop new business at target operating mine sites selling our SlurryIQ program. Your mission will be to maximise sales and gross margin for the SlurryIQ program and ensure we deliver an efficient professional client experience end-to-end. The company’s strategy is to aggressively grow the SlurryIQ program to become the main client solution in its aftermarket mining business (nationally and internationally).

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Present the SlurryIQ program to new leads.
  • Create a ‘burning platform’ issue in the client’s mind to drive urgency and action.
  • Demonstrate how the SlurryIQ program will solve this (including examples).
  • Get client commitment to SlurryIQ program (including booking site visit).
  • Conduct site visit, analyse requirements, expand scope to grow value.
  • Review internal scope definition and proposal creation.
  • Present commercial proposal to client and win deal.
  • Review internal technical solution (ensure design optimisation meets client’s needs).
  • Present technical solution to client & obtain design approval.
  • Ensure smooth project delivery and cataloguing for reorder.
  • Collaborate with team to originate new SlurryIQ leads and improve the program.

This role will be based in Perth (with significant travel to site). We will provide relocation and visa assistance if required. This is a new role for our business with significant impact and responsibility. There will be opportunities to progress if you out-perform.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience:

  • Mineral process plant sales experience (incl troubleshooting & opportunity origination on operating mine sites).
  • Ideally – solution sales background (selling premium solution on ‘total cost of ownership’).

This is a significant role that will require serious ambition, energy, and commitment. We will consider candidates without significant experience if they possess the right motivation, character traits, have demonstrable sales capability, and know their way around a mine site.
