Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager – Sales & Product Development with a strong background in commercial flooring, industrial flooring, or construction materials sales.
This role is suited for a strategic leader with expertise in business development, product innovation, and industrial material expansion within the flooring sector.
As a key part of our leadership team, you will drive sales growth, expand our market share in commercial flooring and industrial rubber applications, and lead product development initiatives that align with sustainability and industry demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on commercial flooring solutions and other sustainable rubber-based products.
- Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities in construction, fitness, hospitality, and industrial flooring sectors.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with flooring distributors, contractors, architects, and developers.
- Set and track KPIs for revenue growth, sales performance, and market penetration.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team with expertise in flooring and industrial applications.
Product Development & Market Expansion:
- Drive new product development in commercial flooring and acoustic underlay solutions.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and customer needs in flooring and industrial applications.
- Work closely with manufacturing and R&D teams to enhance product quality, durability, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on branding, positioning, and go-to-market strategies for flooring solutions.
- Expand distribution channels and partnerships in commercial construction, flooring retail, and industrial sectors.
Sustainability & Industry Leadership:
- Promote eco-friendly commercial flooring solutions within key markets.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and sustainability forums.
- Lead initiatives integrating circular economy principles into product development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years in commercial flooring, industrial flooring, construction materials sales, or related industries.
- Proven experience in scaling businesses, developing new markets, and leading high-growth sales teams.
- Strong network within the commercial flooring, construction, and industrial sectors.
- Experience in product innovation and business development within the flooring industry.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
- Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
