Plant Manager:

Main Functions:


This role is accountable for aspects of the plant production performance and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner but also consistent with quality requirements.

The role holder will delegate authority to department leaders as appropriate, manage all functions involved and direct and coordinate operations for the processing plant.


The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.

The Maintenance Department will also report into this role to enable seamless working between Maintenance and Production.

  • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum daytoday operations to exceed our customers' expectations
  • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Responsibility for production output, product quality and ontime shipping
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Ensures that budgets are set appropriately and managed closely, implementing appropriate mechanisms of control on expenditure, value purchasing and goods receipting
  • Accountable for asset care and plant reliability (Planned/Reactive) in a 24/7 food production plant
  • Employs professional performance management standards and techniques when managing the teams, ensuring that good performance is recognized and that poor performance is actively managed
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus

Technical skills:

Required

  • Experience in Food and Beverage, or Food services industry
  • Demonstrable experience of leading transformation and continuous improvement of production (RCA, 5W...)
  • Microsoft Office and Operations ERP based management literacy
An asset

  • Experience in Fermentation (Yeast, Bacteria, Beer, Wine, Distilleries) based industry
