At the Department of Demography, a subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, two Univ.
Ass. Postdoc positions as temporary replacements are vacant.

Our department, which consists of an international team with English as the working language, combines demographic research and teaching at the University of Vienna.

It offers the Master's programme "Global Demography" and the possibility to do a PhD in the field of demography.

The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff.

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: -48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Active participation in research, teaching and administration. This involves

  • Developing and strengthening the independent research profile
  • Involvement in research projects / research studies
  • International publications and presentations
  • Coteaching of courses
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
  • Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration

Profile:

  • Doctoral degree/PhD degree
  • Professional competence: more than two years of postdoc experience
  • Methodological competence: mortality modelling
  • Didactic competence: at least at M.A. level
  • High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • IT user skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience of working on research projects
  • International presentation experience
