We are seeking a Director of Finance to be part of our team at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, which is scheduled to open its doors in the Summer of 2024.

Mandarin Oriental, Vienna will be located in a historic building and will consist of 151 guestrooms and suites centered around a courtyard, including dining venues and an outdoor garden. Additionally, the property will feature a luxurious Spa at Mandarin Oriental with treatment rooms, a pool, and a well-equipped gym. Various versatile spaces will be available for events and gatherings.

The 17 Residences at Mandarin Oriental will occupy the top two floors of the building, offering exclusive apartments with access to a rooftop, some with outdoor terraces and breathtaking city views. Owners will benefit from Mandarin Oriental's renowned service and direct access to the hotel's amenities.

As the Director of Finance, your role will involve providing leadership and guidance on all financial aspects of the hotel's operations. You will be responsible for producing accurate financial reports to support decision-making processes and ensuring compliance with regulations.

During the pre-opening phase, the Director of Finance will lead in creating the budget, recruitment of the Finance team, and ensuring adherence to standards.

The Director of Finance will have the following responsibilities:

  • Direct, manage, and enhance financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and prepare reports to track success.
  • Supervise the accounting department and ensure financial operations efficiency.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management decision-making.
  • Monitor revenues and expenses to maintain accurate records.
  • Establish and audit internal financial controls to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in capital planning and budget development.

What qualifications are we seeking?

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller in Hospitality Accounting operations, with a focus on luxury.
  • Strong management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to generate various financial reports and analyze complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and German.
  • Proficiency in Excel and systems like Opera, Sun, Delphi, Hyperion, and Micros.
  • Deadline-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
