We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Prae Doc (PhD student) at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry.

Your position is at the interface of analytical chemistry and inorganic biological chemistry.


As part of our diverse team, you will be developing innovative methods combining metabolomics and metallomic approaches to assess the molecular fingerprint of small metal species in biological samples.

Furthermore, you will study complementary high resolution electrospray mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The methods shall be developed and applied in the interdisciplinary field of metal based drug research.

You have previous knowledge in the area of bioanalytical chemistry and statistical analysis of big data.


Moreover, you have had opportunities to teach and have a working knowledge of university procedures and structures Ideally, you have been involved in scientific work and have gathered some international experience.


Your future tasks

:

You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:

  • You will be involved in research projects and among others, develop methods for profiling metal containing small molecules by complementary inorganic and organic mass spectrometry.
  • Implementing and improving current strategies of data evalution will be one of your responsibilities.
  • You will design experiments supporting the understanding of mode of action of metal based drugs.
  • We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 1218 months
  • You hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality

  • You have a diploma or masters degree in chemistry, preferably with a strong focus on analytical chemistry or equivalent qualification.
  • As an enthusiastic, hardworking, dedicated person who enjoys working independently as well as being a team player, you will blend into and be a valuable addition to our group.
  • Very good knowledge of English is essential, working knowledge of German an advantage.
