One of i5's affiliated companies, a funded B2B EnergyTech scale-up, is looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to drive its next phase of growth. Backed by strong international investors and a highly skilled team, the company is on track for accelerated growth. As the CTO, you will leverage your strong IT skills to build cutting-edge software solutions, lead the development team, and drive the company's technology vision.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire software development process, ensuring scalability and high-quality code.
  • Set up and improve development workflows, ensuring best practices in coding, system design, and infrastructure.
  • Lead and build a high-performing tech team, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed.
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for building customer-focused platform solutions.
  • Take a hands-on approach to coding, troubleshooting, and ensuring product quality.
  • Lead technical due diligence (e.g., code reviews) during future funding rounds and potential exits.
  • Work closely with business teams to ensure the technical strategy supports growth and market demands.
  • Ensure cybersecurity and compliance are prioritized in all tech solutions.
  • Set and track technical KPIs to measure team and process performance.
  • Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement within the tech team.

Your Profile:

  • Technical background with experience in building scalable platforms or marketplaces
  • Preferably a strong background in B2B businesses, ideally in energyTech
  • Hands-on experience in software development, with solid coding knowledge and IT skills.
  • Strong strategic perspective on developing modern, scalable platform solutions and optimizing technology stacks for long-term growth.
  • Proven team leader with experience in guiding and scaling tech teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement in development processes and technology integration.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and ideally German
  • Location: Based in/near Vienna or willing to relocate.
