About Early Learning Victoria
The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres, as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. These centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep. The first four centres will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032. Early Learning Victoria is being set up as a new business unit within the Department of Education to establish and operate the centres. We are building a team of high performers who are strengths-based, compassionate, dedicated, have a good attention to detail and who adopt a continuous improvement mindset. We have a large work program ahead of us, and it will take genuine flexibility, adaptability and teamwork to achieve this ambitious reform agenda
About the Role
The Project Officer will support the Program and Project Manager with executive, project and administrative support as well as preparation of correspondence, internal reporting and recordkeeping.You will support the delivery of key establishment activities for the Early Learning and Childcare Centres (ELCCs), including the delivery of ICT systems, business applications, procurement and associated processes
Your duties will include:
- Supporting business improvement by developing written, visual and project management products and tools
- Assisting with briefs and slide decks
- Providing administrative and project support to within Early Learning Victoria, including project scoping
- Using appropriate purchasing processes in accordance with departmental policy
- Entering purchase requisitions and processing invoices using departmental systems
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in executive support and/or project management
- Experience in monitoring, reporting and delivering on projects / programs with tight deadlines and within budgets, including demonstrated understanding of compliance, integrity and risk management
- A working knowledge of budgeting and finance processes
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, with high level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, flexibly, and constructively in a team, within a busy environment to ensure continuous and efficient operation and work proactively to enhance work systems and practices
- Outstanding computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and an ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties
- An understanding of the early childhood sector and experience in an early learning setting is desirable, but not essential
