Role Purpose

The primary purpose of the Head of Commercial Insurance role is to drive the strategic growth and profitability of the commercial insurance division. This involves implementing innovative product solutions, leading the commercial insurance team, optimizing operational efficiencies, and enhancing customer satisfaction. 

The role is crucial for expanding market share, increasing revenue, and positioned as a leading broker in the commercial insurance sector.

Key Objectives:

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve a significant annual increase in income by identifying new market opportunities, developing tailored insurance solutions, and building and nurturing key alliances and collaborations. 
  • Operational Efficiency: Enhance operational processes to improve efficiency and capacity.
  • Customer Retention: Implement strategies to improve client satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performance team.
  • Brand Leadership: Establish ACS Financial as a thought leader in the commercial insurance industry.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships to drive business growth.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the commercial insurance portfolio.
    • Analyse market trends and competitor activities.
    • Develop strategies to capture market share and penetration
    • Oversee the creation and refinement of insurance broking solutions.
    • Ensure products meet market demands and are competitive.
    • Lead efforts to acquire new commercial clients.
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.
    • Address client concerns promptly.
    • Streamline underwriting and claims processes.
    • Implement technology solutions to improve operational workflows.
    • Develop risk management strategies to minimise potential losses.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations.
    • Lead and mentor a team of commercial insurance professionals.
    • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders.
    • Assist the marketing team to develop thought leadership and demonstrate expertise in various forms.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the commercial insurance industry with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of underwriting processes, risk assessment, and claims management; strong understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Business Development: Proven track record in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, expanding market share, and driving revenue growth. 
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent client relationship management and team leadership skills.
