TheTin Building by Jean-Georges is a sprawling food emporium located inside one of New York’s most historic landmarks.TheTIN Building features multiple unique venues: Several full-service restaurants, fast casual, and counter dining outlets as well as 10,000 sf of retail featuring private label products, grab and go, grocery and more. To support this significant operationtheMarketplace features a large commissary kitchen and bakery, as well as an exhibition kitchen that will provide media opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Server Assistant will assist servers and attend to the guests of the restaurant by upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. This position will assist with running food, clearing dishware, and setting up tables to ensure service runs smoothly.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist servers by clearing tables, setting tables, refilling beverages and dishware, and attending to guest requests
· Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their dining experience
· Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards
· Participate actively during pre-shift meeting
· Participate in restaurant service and team trainings
· Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service
· Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities
· Provide courteous and efficient service
· Responds positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints
· Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment
· Completes side work according to the schedule
· Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service
· Reliably complete all assigned side work
· Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards

· Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays
· A desire to advocate on behalf of the guest as well as notice and pursue when a guest is dissatisfied
· A willingness to jump in and assist with additional duties when needed (bussing tables, greeting guests, running food) and a great team player
· Genuine warmth and hospitality

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.
· Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
· Climbing steps regularly.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable . The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paidwithin the rangedepends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
