Our client, a disability-services focussed Federal Government agency based in Surry Hills, NSW, requires an experienced technical business analyst for a long 12 month contract.

Duties

  • Elicit and document business and technical requirements to support the strategy and goals of the Agency as they relate to Data & Analytics data product development.
  • Analyse and document business process and data flows to provide current and future state context to support business and technical requirements.
  • Analyse and document recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Review and provide feedback on business and technical design documents to ensure designs align with expected business outcomes, as captured by business and technical requirements.
  • Input to the design and implementation of solutions that deliver to the business and technical requirements and meet the expected business and technical outcomes.
  • Develop a traceability framework for team members to follow to ensure all deliverables / use cases link to an agreed business outcome / success measure via succinct and unambiguous business and technical requirements.

Selection Criteria

  • Leading business and technical requirement development and stakeholder validation.
  • Documenting data and process flows to analyse and provide context to business and technical requirements.
  • Documenting current and target state process maps/flows.
  • Understand and capture business requirements relating to use / application of data to business problems.
  • Gather, analyse and translate business data to meaningful insights.
  • Hands on experience with agile product development process for data products.
  • Hands on experience developing detailed User Stories and User Acceptance Criteria.
  • Intermediate skills with JIRA and Confluence, Visio, Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
  • Practical Agile Delivery framework experience, developing Initiatives, Epics, User Stories and other documentation.
  • Experience implementing Data Lake and/or Data Warehouse applications and accompanying data architecture (e.g. Data Models, ETL, data governance, security) and/or business transformation projects.
  • Experience as a scrum master.
  • Data analysis and data visualisation skills.
  • Experience working in data businesses.
