The Social Policy team within Queensland Treasury have a permanent Senior Treasury Analyst role available in the Justice Team. In the role you will work collaboratively with a range of clients including other work units within Treasury, other State Government departments, statutory authorities, and the Commonwealth Government.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Justice team, working collaboratively with a range of clients including other work units within Treasury, other State Government departments, statutory authorities, and the Commonwealth Government. As a Senior Treasury Analyst in the Justice team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to and learn from the work of others in a collaborative and supportive environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and guide the delivery of highly complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, publications and correspondence, often within tight timeframes.
  • Provide advice, information and support on a broad range of policy, financial management and economic performance issues.
  • Manage positive working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders on difficult and complex issues.
  • Represent Treasury on committees and interdepartmental working groups and assist in preparing the Executive Director and/or Assistant Under Treasurer in oral briefings for ministerial offices.
  • Provide strategic advice on the improvement of departmental/agency performance (financial and non-financial) and the implementation of best practice improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to team and divisional business planning, and business process improvement.
  • Work collegiately with analysts across policy teams in both Social Policy and Industry Policy, coordinating whole of government processes and representing the interests of all teams where required.

What experience you will bring:

  • experience with analysis and formation of advice on public policy matters & complex strategic and/or financial management issues
  • knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, Government processes and networks
  • an ability to write and communicate clearly
  • a flexible approach, and an ability to work in an agile team in a high-pressure environment
  • an ability to work collaboratively within a team and with stakeholders
  • strong interpersonal skills.

Whilst There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, qualifications with a focus on economics, finance, law, public policy and business are highly regarded
