The Role
The College seeks to appoint a Head of Wellbeing - P-2.

Reporting to the Head of Primary through to the Deputy Head of Primary - Wellbeing & Operations, this newly developed position will work closely with teachers, parents and our College leadership team to develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour, build social-emotional skills and foster a safe and supportive learning environment across the Primary Campus.

This is a significant middle leadership role, sitting alongside our Head of Learning Enhancement - Primary and Head of Pedagogy.


To be successful, you will
:

  • Be instrumental in cocreating, embedding, and enacting the best positive wellbeing practices, which will encourage and support our staff in equipping our students to live a flourishing and wellrounded life
  • Provide direct coaching and support for students with behavioural challenges
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to implement positive behaviour interventions and supports.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with families
  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement Collegewide behaviour policies and procedures that promote a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Work closely with the College leadership team to build staff capacity in order to ensure highly effective student learning, pedagogy and evaluation leading to improved outcomes
  • Organise additional nonclass activities (such as playtime opportunities, or luncheating opportunities, or cocurricular opportunities) to cater for the varying needs of students
  • Provide Professional Development and training to staff on evidencebased practices and strategies for promoting positive behaviour and socialemotional development

About You
:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in education. Postgraduate qualifications in wellbeing and/or leadership (desirable)
  • Have a current QCT registration or have the ability to acquire one
  • You will be passionate about student and staff wellbeing, with a track record of creating positive and thriving environments
  • You have the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Have experience in converting contemporary ideas and evidencebased research into action
  • Have demonstrated experience in a leadership role of a similar nature
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers and relevant agencies
  • A high degree of organisational skills and an ability to meet deadlines
This is a full-time term time, ongoing position. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
