About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on process engineer to join our Production Team at our Essity site in Springvale. Working closely with the production and maintenance teams, you will develop and implement solutions to enhance business profitability and work collaboratively to support teams by investigating and solving productivity, quality, process, and cost issues.

This is a full-time position and would be suitable for a mechanical engineer with 2-3 years of experience looking to expand your professional abilities within a manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do
  1. Take a proactive commitment to safety, health, well-being, and the environment.
  2. Optimize process parameters and control strategies with the objective of achieving the most efficient and cost-effective process operation.
  3. Support the operations teams by leading, supporting, and solving process disturbances, which cause deficiencies in health and safety, product quality, process costs or productivity.
  4. Participate in the planning and execution of scheduled asset shutdowns.

What You Will Bring to the Role
  • A commitment, understanding and application of WHS practices.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a related engineering (process, maintenance, or mechanical) or science discipline preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • An understanding of process controls and experience in process improvements.
  • A proven ability to solve complex process problems.
  • Highly proficient at data analysis in a complex process with a strong proficiency in excel.
  • A strong statistical experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Six sigma would be highly advantageous.
