We are seeking an experienced and motivated Network and Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux systems administration, and in designing, implementing and maintaining related AWS cloud systems and services. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure, security protocols, and the ability to manage and optimize complex cloud-hosted IT environments in a PCI environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND JOB TASKS:

  • Install, configure, and maintain various Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu) in AWS EC2 instances in a PCI environment.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.
  • Oversee software installations, updates, and security configurations.
  • Perform regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Network Infrastructure:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud-hosted network infrastructure - including VPNs, IPSEC tunnels, Gateways, Firewalls, Load balancers etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

Security Management:

  • Implement and manage security measures to protect systems, networks, and data.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation activities to mitigate risks.
  • Play a key role in assisting with annual PCI audit.

Virtualization and Cloud Services:

  • Manage a variety of AWS cloud services (in addition to those mentioned above) to optimize resource utilization and scalability. Includes EC2 instances, Security Groups, CloudTrail etc.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and business continuity.
  • Perform regular testing and updates to ensure readiness in case of an incident.

Automation and Scripting:

  • Utilize automation tools and scripting languages (Bash etc.) to streamline administrative tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.

PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems mandatory.
  • In-depth understanding of network infrastructure and security protocols.
  • Experience AWS cloud services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE or other Linux certification, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
