As a Product Owner, you will be pivotal in shaping the future of our Workforce Management System, ensuring that it is not only compliant with all relevant regulations and standards but also effectively meets the needs of our users in the disability care, aged care, and pharmacy industries. You will lead product development initiatives, manage the product backlog, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value to our customers.

The successful candidate will live within commutable distance of our office in Melbourne, Victoria
What your day will look like:
Product Compliance and Leadership:
- Ensure the product adheres to legal standards and ethical considerations
- Demonstrate leadership by actively inspiring the team and stakeholders with the product vision and strategic goals
Backlog and Development Management:
- Create, prioritize, and refine the product backlog to align with business objectives and customer needs
- Make strategic decisions on feature inclusion for sprints or releases to maximize customer and business value
- Ensure clarity, understanding, and proper estimation of backlog items by the development team
Team Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with developers, designers, marketers, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and within-budget product delivery
- Manage resource allocation and forecasting to optimize team productivity
- Resolve any roadblocks or bottlenecks that affect the development process
- Coordinate internal resources for the analysis and design of new features and enhancements
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Actively participate in stakeholder meetings, translating requirements into actionable high-level tickets
- Present and clarify the upcoming work to the team, ensuring that all members are aligned and motivated
About You:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development, specifically with workforce management or payroll systems
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with regulations and standards applicable to FairWork and modern awards
- Industry experience in Disability Care, Aged Care, or Pharmacy is highly desirable
- Strong tactical focus with the ability to manage and prioritize a product backlog effectively
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster an environment of clear understanding and collaborative problem-solving
- Proficient in Agile methodologies and tools
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Legally authorised to work in Australia
