You will lead and manage a dedicated team with a focus on managing all entities of QPS Marine Fleet Assets (QPS, SES and Marine Rescue Queensland) including fleet operations, fleet strategy and mechanical services, and provide fit for purpose fleet assets to QPS. Through the full lifecycle management and best practice approach to marine fleet, you will ensure assets and equipment are managed strategically and maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised to meet operational and organisational objectives, value for money to the public and the environment.

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Provide leadership and operational direction that delivers a high standard of core and project lead business services to our clients and internal customers.
• Lead and manage fleet asset priorities across multiple entities within the QPS by developing, implementing and managing strategies to improve systems, training, policy and core business performance activities.
• Provide strategic advice and report on business management principles ensuring delivery and lifecycle management of fleet and logistics is aligned with organisational planning and strategic direction.
• Manage multiple complex projects, initiatives and asset management services and ensure they are implemented with strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and key stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and actively engage in risk management activities which promote corporate governance and operational benefits.
• Manage, prepare and review complex reports, submissions and briefings and ensure accurate and appropriate response to a range of ministerial and departmental correspondence.
• Lead and Represent QPS and negotiate at high level meetings and manage liaison and coordination with key stakeholders in building awareness and strengthening fleet asset management and services.
• Manage human, financial and physical resources ensuring client service and performance management and drive a culture of accountability and fairness that encourages and enables teams and individual staff to meet challenges, develop skills and achieve results.

Role Requirements:

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience

Experience or knowledge in project management, asset management processes and practices across the public sector, supply chain management, contract management principles and fleet procurement related business systems are desirable.

A proven record of delivery outstanding results through fleet management and effective change management are desirable, as well as the ability to build and lead an effective service delivery team.
