The Accountant will be distinguished in their role as the subject matter expert on shared services accounting processes, including: balance sheet recs, correct recognition of costs, month-end journals, and monthly group reporting. The Accountant will also be involved in preparing statutory accounts for various entities and conducting annual external and internal audits.
The Accountant will be dealing with large volumes of transactions in a complex reporting framework so attention to detail is critical to the role. Providing great customer service to internal customers and the continuous improvement of finance processes provide opportunities for the Accountant to stand out.
Duties & Responsibilities: Month-End Processes and Other Regular Tasks. Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts of various entities of our business. Approval of daily banking. Completion of monthly FX exposure reports. Environmental reporting. Balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare monthly standing journals and accruals. Prepare monthly cost allocations, including: inventory true-up, ITSA/IRL Atlas jnl, Optus, and IT equipment leases (HP). Run credit card processes via ProMaster. Review and post bad debt provision journal. Reconciliation of prepayment accounts and associated accruals. Financial Reporting. Coordination of all IFRS 16 lease reporting and compliance requirements for Group with the assistance of the accountants. Provide guidance regarding the correct application of IFRSs to day-to-day issues, e.g. capitalized vs non-capitalisable costs under IAS 16 Property, Plant and Equipment
Tax Preparation of monthly BAS for: Qualifications. Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, CIMA). bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in related field required. 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, EPICOR, SunSystems, and/or Cognos will be an added advantage.
