Maintenance Manager | Full-time Temporary

Details: Transport Canberra is seeking an experienced person to fill the role of North Region Maintenance Manager. Reporting to the Senior Director Fleet Services the focus of the position is to manage, administer and coordinate all bus fleet maintenance and repair functions of the workshop. The Maintenance Manager will provide leadership, motivation and develop a team within a multi-disciplinary industrial environment including the ability to foster teamwork and provide continuous improvement. In addition, the Maintenance Manager is required to ensure ongoing development and implement continuous improvement programs across the business unit to achieve optimal fleet to network utilisation.
To be successful in this position you will:
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of fleet maintenance and workshop facilities.
- Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to inspire, energise and positively influence team and individual outcomes, whilst achieving organisations objectives.
- Enjoy a challenge.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- To be eligible for temporary employment you must be in Australia on a visa with work rights or be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Security clearance checks will be conducted.
- This position does require a pre-employment medical.
- Drivers Licence (C-class) is mandatory, with the ability to obtain a HR class.
- Relevant trade qualifications and or certificates are mandatory.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill identical future vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
