Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency
Details: The ACT Parks and Conservation Service is looking for an energetic and well-organised Commercial Tourism Manager to support tourism management within ACT parks, reserves, and forests.
The successful applicant will work in partnership with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day management of tourism within PCS estate, including oversight of the NatureStays property portfolio and online booking system management.
This position will support the Commercial Tourism Manger – Policy and Projects in the development of a new commercial tourism/use framework across the PCS managed estate. The position manages a Commercial Tourism and Events Officer and will support the delivery of the Tidbinbilla Open Day (September 2024).

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Be prepared to work some shift work for key events as required
- A current manual driver’s licence is required.
- Be prepared to wear a uniform.
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to natural or cultural resource management and/or recreation or tourism management in protected areas are desirable but not essential.
Note: This temporary position is available from 12 August 2024 up until 21 February 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill both full-time temporary and/or permanent vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
