Business Development Manager

Location: Clayton, VIC

Reporting to: General Manager of Industrial Coatings ANZ

You will improve the PPG business position through your strategic planning, development, and growth of the Industrial Coatings business unit and related channels to market in Australia. You will also manage the delivery of agreed business targets including growth KPIs as defined within the Industrial Coatings Business Strategy following the corporate values, and adherence to PPG policies and procedures. #LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop strategic relationships with direct/Key accounts to maximize PPG’s position as a supplier of choice and focus on account growth, profitability, and share of wallet in the General Industrial coating market and sub-segments.
  2. Meet yearly Sales and PTPI targets through management of pricing, samples, expenses, etc.
  3. Increase sales and deliver maximum profitability of the PPG Industrial Coatings portfolio of products and services through the development of new and existing business opportunities, both directly and through any Distribution network.
  4. Improve the business's financial performance by developing and implementing short- and medium-term business strategies consistent with the Industrial Coatings business plan.
  5. Ensure PPG retains its market leadership position with key industry stakeholders, and key customers including Industry Associations.
  6. Increase sales of PPG products and services by ensuring Industry influencers’ architects and specifiers specify them.
  7. Take a leading role in the development and negotiation of sole or preferred supplier status ensuring that PPG is regarded as their product offering and partner of choice.
  8. Responsible for reviewing pricing together with IC General Manager.
  9. Define competitive share and market intelligence of competitive sales volumes.
  10. Identify key success factors to assist in putting together and executing plans across the segments.
Qualifications:

Relevant qualification with 10 years of experience in direct sales, business, management & distribution networks in the Industrial Coatings or similar industry or other technical-sales management-related environment. Ability to position PPG as a market leader through multiple industry associations. Strong project management skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Excellent communication and computer skills.
