Your future role:
Take on a new challenge and apply your Quality expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Reporting to the Project Quality Manager - QLD, you will represent Quality in the QLD New Generation Rollingstock (QNGR) project team, driving for customer satisfaction through the project’s Safety and Quality assurance by coordinating all quality and safety activities throughout the project until contact closure. Based at the Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving all quality relevant elements in the execution of the QNGR Rollingstock contract.
We’ll look to you for:
- Leading and managing a small team of Quality professionals.
- Maintaining and continuously improving the relevant Project Quality Assurance Management Plans.
- Providing technical verification and validation of construction evidence throughout the projects lifecycle.
- Supporting the QNGR project team and the Project Managers to prepare DFQ gate reviews & follow up related action plans.
- Reporting quality and safety alerts and manage Non-conformities and Safety issues.
- Contributing with structured techniques (e.g., FMEA) to the criticality assessment of Alstom’s solutions.
- Ensuring that safety assessments are correctly implemented (i.e., safety review) and preparing safety authorisations.
- Facilitating problem solving during project execution phase to ensure timely management and reduce the costs of non-quality (8D, QRQC, REX).
- Supporting inspections at Alstom, supplier, contractor and customer sites.
- Controlling project processes and deliverables compliance through inspection and audits and to authorise presentation/ delivery to our customer.
- Management and compliance of project documentation.
All about you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic).
- Railway, aviation, mining or O&G industry experience.
- Excellent communication skills and with the ability to build strong relationships with Colleagues, Supplier and our Customer.
- Proven background in team/people management and ability to positively influence in cross-functional/geographically distributed teams.
- An awareness of Processes and Products delivery within a project environment.
- Experienced in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools and quality standards (ISO9000 and ISO9001).
- Significant Quality Management experience including operational activities and documentation management.
