About the Role
Based at our Yallourn Power Station, the Work Group Leader is accountable for the direct supervision of the trade resources (both internal and external) within the specified Maintenance team, to deliver objectives set at both the broader Maintenance and team levels. The Work Group Leader’s focus is on continuous improvement with regards to safety, people and plant.
The Power Station and Maintenance group, consisting of EnergyAustralia Yallourn and Ventia, is accountable for the ongoing preventative maintenance and repairs of plant and machinery onsite. Yallourn maintenance consists of multidisciplined process teams (Boiler, Turbine-Generator, Coal-Disposal, Combustion, Maintenance Services and Maintenance Technical Services).
Our mandate is to lead the operation, optimisation and evolution of Energy Assets, to deliver a safe and sustainable future for our people, customers and communities.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Direct supervision and productivity of the trade and contract trade resources within the Maintenance Team, to deliver on both team and business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement in ‘on the job’ safety standards.
- Ensure all maintenance work is executed in accordance with work plans.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure work quality is of a high standard.
About You
- Proven experience in the maintenance of power stations or other heavy industry.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to motivate, coach and lead a maintenance team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement of safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering or Trade qualifications are desired but not essential.
