At Bunnings, you’ll make a positive difference to our business and beyond.

Bunnings is the leading retailer of home improvement and lifestyle products in Australia and New Zealand and a major supplier to project builders, commercial tradespeople and the housing industry. Operating from a network of stores, trade centres, frame and truss sites, and online, Bunnings caters for consumer and commercial customers.

By joining our passionate and diverse team, you will have the opportunity to grow, develop, have fun and make a positive difference – to our customers and the communities where we live and work.

About the role

As the Cyber Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Bunnings Cyber Governance Framework.

You will work closely with the broader cyber team including the Cyber Risk and Compliance, Cyber Advisory and Cyber Operations functions to ensure the accurate measurement and reporting of risk outcomes, implementation of standards and efficacy of protective controls.

You will play a key role in ensuring adoption and execution of the governance framework with business stakeholders to ensure the integrity of the following processes: cyber risk management, third party security assessment, application security, cyber advice and requirements, measurement and reporting on cyber controls.

What's involved:

  • Integrate checkpoints into the Software Delivery Lifecycle to ensure provided cyber advice is addressed prior to a project’s production release, including ensuring anomalies are recorded, analysed and managed in accordance with the framework
  • Ensure cyber risks are treated as per the framework
  • Identify non-conformance with the framework and ensure integrity of risk treatments including mitigations, closures, acceptances and escalations
  • Conduct necessary technology compliance control monitoring and testing activities to determine the effectiveness of the controls
  • Manage suite of reporting ensuring appropriate visibility is provided to key stakeholders

Who we’re looking for

You will be an established Cyber Security professional with specific experience in Cyber Governance. Having previously developed cyber governance frameworks you will be comfortable to use your subject matter expertise to provide advice and guidance to the team and broader business.

You will have well developed communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the business to act as a trusted partner across Cyber Governance. You will be able to articulate key business risks to a broad range of stakeholders, coupled with the ability to draft reporting for varying levels of the business.

You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience in Cyber Governance
  • Advanced experience developing, promoting and executing Cyber Governance practices
  • Broad technology process and software development lifecycle knowledge
  • Advanced cyber security domain knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including information security, encryption methods and privacy-based solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology (computer systems and networking) or related study, or equivalent experience

We’re here to support you.

Bunnings strives to ensure everyone is treated fairly and our team are committed to supporting you at any stage of your recruitment journey. Be sure to let us know if you require an adjustment and we can provide the most appropriate support for you. Contact us at jobs@bunnings.com.au and a member of the team will be in touch.

You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.

There's so much on offer when you're part of our Bunnings team with benefits including:

  • Our flexible and informal work environment which helps bring balance between work and home.

  • Team discount at Bunnings, OnePass and with other Wesfarmers retailers including Kmart, Target, Officeworks and Catch.

  • Discounts from corporate partners (such as private health insurance, gyms, car rental) and cost price food and drinks at our Bunnings café.

  • 12 weeks paid parental leave, regardless of gender, annual flu vaccinations and health checks.

  • The opportunity to create a real difference in your local community and environment.

Join us and experience Bunnings from the other side of the counter.

Please note that if your application progresses to the reference check stage, you may be required to submit a police check. If your search returns a criminal record, Bunnings will assess whether the record impacts your ability to perform the key requirements of the role.
