Role

The Wellbeing Co-ordinator will lead a school based multidisciplinary team, in effectively managing the provision of wellbeing services to the school community. This will include but is not limited to: leading team meetings, triage and allocation of support, liaison with external providers and agencies, working closely with the school leadership team to support the school in achieving Strategic plan and Annual Implementation Plan wellbeing and engagement targets and co-ordinating education programs and social outreach.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Act in accordance with school, DE, and legislative requirements at all times.

2. Regularly review and update policies which guide the day-to-day activities of the school¿s health and wellbeing team, including processes relating to referral (internal and external), consent, documentation, case load, information sharing with external organisations, and meetings.

3. Regularly collaborate with the PCO team, SSN, and MHP to plan, develop, and lead the school¿s strategy to improve the health and wellbeing of all students.

4. Promote a culture of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights within the health and wellbeing team.

5. Fulfil any other duties which might be assigned by the PCO team, reporting directly to the AP for wellbeing and inclusion.

6. Maintain and develop partnerships with health and wellbeing services within and outside the DE to maximise student and family access to these services.

7. Act as the line manager for all members of the health and wellbeing team (aside from MHP and SSN), overseeing their daily activities and their professional development.

8. Coordinate and/or directly contribute to the professional development of all school staff members in the area of student health and wellbeing.

9. Regularly engage in own professional development.

10.  Where necessary, provide direct counselling, case management, crisis support, and/or risk assessment/safety planning for students referred for support from the health and wellbeing team.

The successful candidate will be required to work some hours during the school holidays. Regular work hours will be 8.30am to 4.36pm on weekdays. This may be negotiated as appropriate. 

The successful candidate will be eligible to claim time in lieu (TIL) where they are required to work in excess of their normal hours of duty.
