Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

We are looking for a motivated Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, to join our close knit team within NEC Australia (NECA). The role is based in Melbourne and we may consider the right person to work remotely.
Overview
The objective of the Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist role is to deliver value to the business through active management of vendor relationships and spend. This includes conducting regular reviews and establishing the appropriate commercial constructs with vendors to deliver maximum financial benefit to the Company.
The Procurement function is accountable for the management of all third party spend across NECA. The function will partner with the various lines of business to lead and manage supplier engagements from inception to exit with the aim of,
- improving the gross profit of NECA,
- protecting the business by managing probity and compliance and,
- managing supply risk to ensure continuity of supply
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in a similar cost take-out, Strategic sourcing or vendor management role
- Proactive in implementing third-party cost reduction initiatives within the business
- Advanced skills in influencing and negotiation
- Proven track record in managing vendors for software, hosting, infrastructure, and telecom products and services
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working independently and handling the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with high proficiency in numeracy and computer literacy
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to business stakeholders for engaging and onboarding new suppliers
- Contributes to a high-performance culture by sharing insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting team-building activities
Responsibilities
- Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, balancing service with positive commercial tension to create value and deliver superior outcomes.
- Initiate and lead cost out initiatives to drive down third party spend and improve the company’s profit margin
- Build relationship with NECA’s Alliance partners to explore Go-To-Market and growth opportunities in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Delivery and Portfolio leads
