Project Communications and Engagement Lead

Morgan McKinley is excited to be partnering with a well-known organisation in the public sector to recruit a project communications and engagement lead

As the lead you will work closely with integrated project teams to plan and manage communication and engagement strategies and activities for designated capital infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice and support to the project team and other relevant stakeholders on project-specific community and stakeholder engagement opportunities, risks and issues.
  • Design and implement strategic communication and engagement strategies and initiatives to ensure stakeholders and the community are consulted at appropriate stages of project planning and delivery.
  • Prepare engaging, high-quality and strategically aligned key messages and content for a broad range of target audiences and channels including print, online, media, presentations and correspondence.
  • Monitor the stakeholder environment and identify communication and stakeholder risks and issues relating to the project and articulate appropriate strategies and controls to minimise risk.
  • Build and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with a broad range of project stakeholders.
  • Monitor engagement activities undertaken by delivery partners to ensure compliance with project and communication objectives, protocols and statutory requirements.
  • Evaluate and report on communication activities and outcomes to ensure alignment with project and engagement objectives and support best practice communications.

Candidate Characteristics:

  • Previous infrastructure project experience is essential
  • Public sector/government experience desirable
  • Proactive with a strong ability to assess risks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
