This mid-size Federal Government Department, based out of a modern office in Woden, ACT, is a key player in Australia's health sector, responsible for various large-scale initiatives.
Your new role
As an EL1 equivalent level Business Analyst, you'll be accountable under broad direction to perform very complex work, providing detailed technical and professional business analysis, system analysis and design change services that align with the vision and strategic direction of the Department. You will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role, working closely with stakeholders across the Agency to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes, technical infrastructure, technical services, and strategic roadmap. Day to day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expertise across a broad range of business analytical activities
  • Apply highly developed specialist, professional, technical and business analytical knowledge to the development of gap analysis and business process design
  • Accountable for the achievement of own and team outcomes, monitoring progress and following through to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes including managing competing priorities
  • Lead the analysis of business needs across a complex portfolio
  • Plan, direct and monitor work progress, setting performance indicators and identifying variance to requirements
  • Attain, maintain and apply an extensive understanding of the contribution that technology can make to the Agency's business objectives and the implications of change for the Agency and stakeholders
  • Resolve issues identified in the performance of business analytical activities; collaborating and working closely with members of cross-functional teams
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed Essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in identity and access (authentication) management (IAM) solution development in a distributed digital services environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills, with experience in producing high quality solution requirements, target state architecture or similar documents.
  • Qualifications: Business analysis or solution architecture certification, or other relevant professional experience.
Desirable
  • Experience in healthcare or digital health solution development.
  • 4+ years of IT Business Analysis experience.
