The ideal candidate should be a seasoned logistics professional with robust leadership abilities and a hands-on approach to efficiently and effectively managing operations.
What will you do?
- Develop and instil a safety-first culture through visible effective leadership and workforce, engagement to achieve the best possible standards of workplace safety.
- Contribute to delivering key supply chain indicators on safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.
- Full ownership of financial performance of DC Management function (DC cost to sales %, cost out targets, budget adherence)
- Actively manage all cost elements including labour, MHE, consumables, contractors, and others
- Provide leadership, training, coaching and mentoring to DC team members, leading the capability development of operational excellence competencies
- Provide leadership to collaborate, negotiate and build alliances with internal departments such as sales, product management, production and finance
- Responsible for compliance of DC Management function to all regulations and policies
- Lead a team of DC/Warehouse managers nationally with direct responsibility over all Vinidex facilities in the region
About you
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and challenge the norms.
- Have a passion for building a culture of excellence through effective leadership and world class productivity
- Strategic with Attention to Detail: Ability to work both tactically and strategically in an environment where business analytics need further development.
- A Bachelor's degree majoring in Supply Chain or similar academic qualification in a related field
- 10+ years’ operational leadership experience in building, infrastructure, civil and/or mining preferred
- Leadership of a national DC network preferred, multi-site leadership in an operational setting will also be considered
- Background in managing heavy load types and mixed freight in storage and transport preferred
