Key Position Tasks:

The Financial Controller role contributes to the overall success of MBV by providing expert financial advice to the CEO, the Board and the Executive and Leadership Teams on matters including cost and pricing structures, funding and business models, cost saving strategies as well the development of longer-term financial strategies.

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the Finance Team, fostering a continuous improvement culture, optimising workflow and systems, and developing a highly effective team.
  • Provide strategic insight and risk management advice to the CEO, the Board and Executive team.
  • Manage the provision of specialist technical advice on Financial Management and accounting policies to the organisation, industry and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the provision of effective and timely financial procedures and information, including preparation of accounts, cash flow forecasts, audit processes and financial accounting processes.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic financial management, including financial risk and compliance.
  • Strong leadership capability in a service-oriented organisation where team outcomes are valued over individual effort or achievement.
  • High level of commercial acumen, understanding of financial markets, knowledge of cost containment strategies and recommending effective and efficient business models.
  • Proven ability in developing analytics, data and information that supports effective, commercial decision making and provides predictive financial modelling and business forecasting.

Prior Experience:

  • Finance/Accounting degree and CA or CPA qualifications.
  • Experience leading financial and management accounting functions.
  • Experience with financial management systems and solutions such as MyPay, Netsuite, Gateway, One and Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
