 Project Located: South of Batemans Bay, NSW 

The Company

Our client is a small to medium sized multi-utility infrastructure civil contracting company, and specialise in Bulk and Detailed Excavation, Concrete structure construction, Concreting, Drainage and Conduit placement on Water Retaining structures such as Reservoirs, Sewage Treatment Plants, Sewer Pumping Stations and Electrical Substations.

The Role

Our client currently has an exciting permanent opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer with previous experience in Construction of Water Reservoirs, Sewage Treatment Plants, Sewer Pumping Stations to join their team.

The successful candidate will be placed a 12 month Pump Station project located on the South Coast of NSW (South of Batemans Bay), where you will be provided with accommodation from the employer. Following completion of this project you will transition onto other projects across Sydney.

Reporting directly into the Project Manager and Directors, this Senior Project Engineer would be responsible for the successful leadership and delivery of a Pump Station project.

Key responsibilities for this role?

  • Manage and provide leadership to the project, developing annual
    and short-term business plans and strategies.
  • Review project performance against plans on a regular basis and
    make continuous improvements.
  • Achieve budget (expense and revenue) as measured against gross margin targets.
  • Manage contracts to ensure the company receives full entitlements for work completed.
  • Oversee the coordination and management of design activities.
  • Prime point of contact for subcontractors.
  • Review of Subcontractors’ safe work method statements, risk
    assessments and Site-Specific Management Plans before they
    commence work.
  • Overseeing the administration and monitoring of subcontractor performance to ensure that the subcontractor’s technical,
    program, quality, environmental, industrial, safety and
    commercial obligations are achieved and maintained.
  • Review and approval of sub-contractor progress claims.
  • Assisting the Project Engineer with the preparation and submission of monthly progress payment claims.
  • Liaison and coordination with the designers to ensure that all civil,
    structural, building, and electrical/mechanical program and
    technical interface requirements are effectively managed and
    achieved.
  • Liaison with all relevant statutory authorities as required.
  • Regularly update programs and networks with respect to the timing, accuracy, and progress of activities.

What are we looking for?

  • Essential - Minimum 10 years’ local (Australia) post graduate experience in Civil Construction
  • Essential - Experience in the Construction of Water Retaining structures such as Reservoirs, Sewage Treatment Plants, Sewer Pumping Stations.
  • Essential - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Construction Management or a related field.
  • A proactive and professional Senior Project Engineer with the proven ability to communicate with all stakeholders including clients, consultants, sub-contractors and operational staff alike.
  • Work with integrity and dedication to forge strong relationships.
  • Strong ability to influence and lead teams.
