We require an experienced Senior Financial Accountant who can contribute to our successful business.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO and leading a sizeable team, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly internal reporting, as well as supporting the senior management by analysing and interpreting financial information to assist with decision making.

Responsibilities 

Some key responsibilities of this position include:

- Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting pack and internal reports in a timely manner for accuracy and completeness

- Analyse monthly management accounts and investigate material variances

- Manage, review and analyse general ledgers prepared by Finance team

- Assist with the preparation and review of half year and year end reporting and statutory reporting packs

- Manage and review annual tax workbooks for inclusion in Group income tax return

- Manage and oversee AEX’s internal controls environment and review financial systems and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as overseas Corporate team including managing information requests and deliverables

- Assist CFO and Financial Controller with adhoc jobs and tasks, as required.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Tertiary accounting qualification
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (CPA / CA)
  • Ideally, prior experience working in a Chartered Accountants firm for at least 4-5 years,
  • Preferably with some external/internal audit exposure
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of international accounting standards
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience with implementation of accounting systems, including use of MS D365 and Workday Adaptive would be advantageous, but not a must
  • Good analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and work with people at all levels within the AEX Group
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
  • Willingness to travel for work. (Full time office role. No WFH)
